Attackers and Defenders

In scenarios where attackers and defenders are defined, the defender is the player whose warband has the highest rating. If more than one warband have the same highest rating, the defender will be the one among them whose warband includes the most models. If there is still a tie, roll a dice to determine who gets to be the defender.

There is only ever one defender, all the other warbands are the attackers.

Underdogs

The warband with the lowest warband rating is considered the ‘underdog’ if the difference of their compared with all other opposing warbands in the scenario is greater than 50.

If two warbands have allied together then their ratings are added together for the purposes of determining if there is an underdog.

Deployment

In scenarios where there is a Defender|Attackers and Defenders|Defender, that warband is set up first. Remaining warbands to setup are determined by the players rolling a D6, with the highest roll set up next, followed by the next player in order of descending dice rolls.

For ties, additional rolls should be performed with the highest result of the additional rolls going first of the tied results.

Unless otherwise stated by the scenario the game board edge will be split into segments. This can often take the form of top/left/bottom/right but for rectangular game boards the long side may be sub-divided into 2 segments. A segment extends from the game board edge 6” inwards.

When it is a player’s turn to deploy they choose a segment to deploy all of their models within. No model can be deployed within 6” of another player’s model.

Order of Play

After all warbands have been set up, players must determine the order of play. Each player rolls a D6. The player with the highest roll gets the first turn. Play proceeds clock-wise around the table from there.

For ties, additional rolls should be performed until a single player has the highest dice roll.

Turn sequence

Each player in the order determined above performs all phases of the turn in sequence, then the next player, and so on.
